Parliament approves national law of the General Regulation of Data Protection – The Economic Journal

The parliament approved this Friday, with the favorable votes of PS, PSD and non-attached member Paulo Trigo Pereira, the law that ensures the implementation in Portugal of the General Regulation on Data Protection (RGPD).

The other parties, BE, PCP, CDS-PP, PEV, and PAN deputy André Silva opted for abstention in the overall final vote on this measure.

The same vote approved the draft law on data processing of the courts and the Public Prosecutor's Office, with the exclusion of the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) from the supervision of these treatment operations.
