The well-known Tavirian photographer Luís Andrade, one of the most active and well-known professionals in the area in Tavira, who belongs to a family dedicated to documenting the county and its people for over a century, died yesterday, Friday, 3 January.
Luís Andrade was present in the different cultural and social events that took place in Tavira, and documented them in images over several decades, and it is noteworthy that, by his initiative was born the museological nucleus Casa Fotografia Andrade, in the center of Tavira.
The collection he developed joined the Andrade family, to which he belonged and which has been closely linked to photography since the year 1900, and part of this family estate, as well as works by Luís Andrade, were exhibited in the Palace. of the Gallery, as part of the exhibition “Photographing – the Andrade family, looks at Tavira”.
