Czech coach Pavel Hapal will take over as Slovakian coach, replacing former official Jan Kozak, the Slovak Football Association (SZF) announced today.
"Pavel will be the new coach of Slovakia," the federation said in a statement on its official website.
Hapal, 49, led the Slovakian Under-21 team from 2015 to 2018, having won the Slovakian championship at the helm of MSK Zilina in 2010.
"In the beginning we had several candidates, but today we are presenting Pavel Hapal. The Executive Committee approved his nomination with nine votes in favor and only one against," revealed SZF President Jan Kovacik.
Kozak, 64, stepped down a week ago, a day after a 2-1 home defeat to the Czech Republic in the League of Nations B game, and having already been defeated by Ukraine by 1 -0.
