Pedro Jóia spread the "pleasure of music" in Loulé - Jornal diariOnline Região Sul

Pedro Jóia, the biggest name of classical guitar in Portugal, was present in Loulé on May 16, 17 and 18 at the invitation of the Cine-Teatro Louletano to promote masterclasses, present a concert and promote performative conversations in the schools of the Municipality of the Cycle "Instrumentalia".

It was three days of pleasant coexistence and enthusiastic exploration of classical guitar with children (more than 200 students and their teachers) who responded to the appeal. The EB 2,3 Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco School, in Loulé, received Pedro Jóia on May 16 and 17, having established contact with four classes of that institution belonging to the fifth and sixth years.

The renowned musician spoke informally and leisurely with the students about his life, artistic path and major influences, interpreted various themes, answered the questions of the smallest and appealed to the learning of music, not forgetting the fascinations of the classical guitar in particular, his instrument of choice.

In his musical mediation tour through the school community, Pedro Jóia has not yet left to visit EB Prof. Sebastião Teixeira, in Salir, where he was very well received by students and teachers. Again, the guest interacted with several students, and encouraged the practice of music as a healthy and stimulating habit, talking about his personal journey and his artistic influences and tastes.

With this initiative, Cine-Teatro Louletano continues to reinforce, on a regular and continuous basis, its cultural intervention at the mediation level, creating strategies to bring different audiences together in the performing arts.

Pedro Jóia also dynamized a masterclass of classical guitar in the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova, thus giving priority to the formative dimension considered fundamental in this cycle "Instrumentalia". In a close articulation with the Music Conservatory of Loulé, the action counted on the participation of several students of the class of guitar of that institution, as well as of other students of Faro and Albufeira, besides some adult participants adherents of the instrument.

It was a unique opportunity for the trainees to enjoy the eclectic experience of the prestigious musician, as well as numerous technical and artistic advice on the world of music and guitar in particular.

But the performative component in this stay of Jewelry in Loulé was not lacking. Before a very crowded room, the musician showed once again why he is the greatest figure of classical guitar in Portugal. Revisiting Carlos Paredes, José Afonso, Carlos Gardel, Armandinho and others, with inspired re-readings that did not leave anyone indifferent, Pedro Jóia showed natural truth, technique and boldness in a night that no one will forget so soon.

The "carte blanche" concert was held at the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova, in Loulé, and had the special participation of youngsters from two social inclusion projects supported by the Louletan autarchy: "Akredita em Ti" ( Quarteira); and "Caminhos" (Boliqueime), having previously contacted the artist during the afternoon in an assisted essay that aimed once again at deepening the dimension of artistic and cultural mediation that we intend to instill in these formats.

The entire program was designed to respond to the artistic and cultural mediation objectives set for the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium and started the Instrumentalia cycle, which will continue through invitations addressed to other renowned musicians linked to specific and diversified instruments.
