Entitled “Lugar de Sophia”, the photography exhibition dedicated to one of the most important Portuguese authors, Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, is open to the public from October 19 to December 10, at the Gama Lobo Palace, in Loulé, with free admission.
With the opening scheduled for today, October 17, at 6 pm, the exhibition "Seats of Sophia", aims to provide a visual interpretation of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen's poetic relationship with places, with special reference to the seascape.
The invitation made to the photographers António Jorge Silva, Duarte Belo and Pedro Tropa, aims to put together the point of view of three artists who have different poetics, embodying an unprecedented reading by the writer.
It should be noted that this initiative is carried out within the framework of the Celebrations of the Centenary of the Birth of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen (1919- 2019), organized by the National Culture Center, with the support of the Municipalities of Lisbon, Loulé and Lagos.
The show is curated by Federico Bertolazzi and José Manuel dos Santos.
In view of the recommendations of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), the space is limited to a number of participants.
