The city of Portimão will receive next Sunday, 25th, another Petanque Algarve Cup, which will be played in the triplet (male) and doublete (female) variant.
The event will take place in the riverside area from 8:30 am and will be attended by about 180 athletes from all over the country, representing clubs affiliated with the four petanque associations (Zona Norte, Zona Centro, Windward Algarve and Southwest Alentejo and Algarve).
This competition, the second oldest after the Portuguese Cup, has great traditions and is part of the European Sport City 2019 schedule, as well as the final of the national triplet championship, scheduled for 7 and 8 September.
The Algarve Cup is one of the eight national events on the Portuguese Petanque calendar, which also includes the National Hand-to-Hand Championships (São Brás de Alportel) and the Triplete (Portimão) and the Abel Ferreira Inter-Associations Cup. (Faro).
