The second phase of applications from the School of Hotel and Tourism of Portimão runs until September 11, however, places are limited. This institution, one of the twelve Tourism Schools of Portugal, trains professionals for the hotel sector in the Algarve every year.
In its training offer for the next academic year (2020/2021), EHT Portimão has two double certification courses (Level IV): Restaurant / Bar Technician and Kitchen and Pastry Technician. Both are aimed at students who have completed the 9th grade and are exempt from paying tuition fees.
On the other hand, EHT Portimão has two more technological specialization courses (Level V): Management in Catering and Beverages and Management and Production of Kitchen. In turn, to enter these courses, interested students must have completed the 11th year and attend the 12th year.
In the area of food and beverages (level IV), a student graduated from EHT Portimão will be able to work as a bartender, bartender, barista, waiter, waiter, sommelier / sommelier or mixology. In the same area, the Course on Catering and Beverages Management trains students for functions such as Maître D’hotel, director of food and drinks, cost controller, chef, bartender, among others.
In the kitchen area, the Cooking Technician / Pastry and Kitchen Management and Production course provides the necessary training for students to play kitchen chef, executive chef or section chef in the near future.
"During the training, students enjoy a series of opportunities to put their knowledge into practice, whether at events (inside and outside the school) or in national and international competitions", says a source from EHT, adding that " in addition to the practical component, they are also encouraged to develop their social relationship skills ».
