The municipality of Portimão launched an inclusive holiday project during the Easter break, aimed at students who attend specialized learning centers in multidefficiency or autism (CAE), and also include other young people in the municipality who, if not attending them, may have this need, in order to guarantee their occupation and support families.
The municipality explains that “this municipal response, which begins on March 29 and runs until April 1, takes into account households who, during the period of school breaks due to Easter, need to ensure well-being and quality of life for their children and young people, due to the fact that they have difficulties in reconciling family reality with professional activity ».
With a view to implementing the project, a protocol of cooperation and partnership was signed between the municipality of Portimão and the School Group Eng. Nuno Mergulhão, Manuel Teixeira Gomes and Bemposta, where the CAE work, bringing together all the conditions necessary for development of this support, which will also cover the teaching interruption to take place next summer and at Christmas.
For the summer school break period, the executive renewed its support for the Teia d’Impulsos association, which since 2018 has been developing work with children and young people with special needs, through the project FICA – Inclusive Holidays for the Algarve Community.
Enrollment is now open for inclusive holidays in the Easter break, which include a set of therapeutic and recreational-pedagogical activities, open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the three School Groups that are partners of this initiative, with meal support.
Children and young people who already attend educational establishments should register with them, while those who currently no longer attend any educational establishment can register with the services of the Housing and Social Development and Health Division – Unit of Health and Citizenship of the City Council of Portimão, from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm, also available for clarification of any doubts through the email [email protected] or by phone numbers 282 470830 and
