Portimonense was invited by the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) to remain in the 1st Football League, after Vitória de Setúbal was prevented from enrolling in professional competitions.
In a statement released yesterday Wednesday, the LPFP announced that the Audit Committee of the Portuguese Professional Football League disapproved the licensing processes for the “sadinos” and also the Desportivo de Aves, which, like the Algarvians, had been demoted on the field, to the II League.
Regarding the formation of Setúbal, there are three non-fulfilled financial assumptions: the club was unable to provide proof of “no debts to sports societies”, “no debts to players, coaches and employees”, as well as “the regularity of the situation contribution to the Tax Authority ”, as can be read in the League note.
Thus, the team is excluded from professional competitions in 2020/21, according to the grounds presented from an opinion of the League's Audit Committee, which inspects the applications for professional tests.
Thus, the League of clubs invited Portimonense, who had been ranked 17th and relegated, to remain in the I Liga and Cova da Piedade and Casa Pia to remain in the II League, after having been demoted administratively. , with the cancellation of the second step, due to covid-19.
Vitória de Setúbal has already announced, however, that it will send an appeal to the Justice Council of the Portuguese Football Federation.
