Portimonense returned today to the triumphs in great style, after four games without winning, beating Gil Vicente 4-1 at home, in a game of the 19th round of the First Football League.
Central midfielder Mauricio opened the game early in the match, at 2 minutes, in a clear header following a corner by Jafar Salmani, Iranian left midfielder who debuted as a starter and showed service.
In advantage, Portimão's team was more comfortable in the match, but Gil Vicente ended up in the tie with a goal from the sky, in a penalty (hand of Maurício when trying to head), converted by Samuel Lino (26).
The equality lasted seven minutes: at 33, Aylton Boa Morta assisted Salmani to a beautiful detail in the reception and conclusion inside the area, putting the Algarves "on top" again, adding even a ball to the post by Moufi, at 42.
In the second half, the gilistas had more ball, but in an innocuous way and without creating danger, in front of a Portimonense very comfortable managing the 2-1 and always "peeking" the counterattack.
The Algarve «killed» the game in a great goal by Aylton Boa Morte, who served on the right, pulled in and shot wide, with his left foot, with no chance for the opposing goalkeeper.
There was still time for 4-1, by forward Beto, in the 85th minute, to close individual play in rapid transition after "sitting" a player from the Minho.
Portimonense climbed four positions in the table, temporarily moving up to 11th place, with 19 points, four above the relegation zone.
In the next round, the Algarve will travel to Sporting, in a game scheduled for Saturday, 20, at 20:30 hours.
