Portimonense won today a historic moment for the Algarve futsal, rising to the 1st Division after the triumph away against Estoril (8-5) and the victory in the South Zone of the second stage of the second national stage.
The Algarve took advantage of Olho Marinho's equalizer, who led the championship at the entrance to the final day, in the match with the Social Center of São João (6-6) and surpassed the rival to reach the 1st place.
The goals of the Portimão victory in the Alcabideche pavilion were signed by Fassy, who signed a hat-trick, Filipe Soares, Fábio Semedo and Pedro Senra.
Portimonense, who in recent years had been close to this goal, won the series with 24 points, the result of eight victories in ten games, one point ahead of Olho Marinho, who missed the opportunity to rise in the last breath.
The season 2019/2020 will therefore mark the first presence of an Algarve team in the 1st Division, known as Liga Sportzone, where it will have the company of two big ones, Sporting and Benfica.
"Thank you to all who supported us. It is the victory of all the fans. It was a victory against everything and against everyone, "Portimonense coach Pedro Moreira told Alvor FM after the match.
