Portimonense scored today, for the first time this season, the second consecutive victory in the 1st Football League, scoring Vitória de Guimarães 3-0 at home, in a match of the 26th round.
Facing a team that was debuting a new coach (Bino Maçães), similar to Nacional (punished by a conclusive 5-1 last week, in Manuel Machado's debut), the Algarve started the opening game of this round in the best way.
At five minutes, Luquinha signed a corner from the left and the central Lucas Possignolo, unmarked, in the "heart" of the area, easily headed for his third goal in the championship.
Despite the goal, Portimonense was a few holes below normal and Vitória also did not show great capacity, which dragged on with a "chewed" football from both sets.
"Kill" the game in three minutes
In the second half, the pace increased and, after occasions in both goals, the Algarve “killed” the game in three minutes.
At 64, Déner converted a penalty, punishing foul on Beto, who at 67 signed the 3-0 after a "sprint" concluded with a fulminating "shot", with his left foot, inside the area.
Portimão's team provisionally climbs four positions in the table, reaching 9th place, with 29 points, eight above the descent zone.
In the next round, Portimonense will travel to Famalicão, in a game scheduled for Sunday, 18, at 15:00 hours.
