Portimonense today scored the second consecutive victory in the 1st football league, by winning in Famalicão by the minimum margin (1-0), with a goal by Ricardo Vaz Té, in a game of the 29th round of the competition.
Without losing since the restart of the championship after the break due to Covid-19, the three victories and two draws in five games allowed the Algarves to cancel the distances in the fight for permanence.
Despite maintaining 17th and penultimate place, with 27 points, Paulo Sérgio's team is now two points away from Tondela, 16th and first set above the relegation zone (with less than one game).
Portimonense started better in the match and had good chances, by Bruno Tabata and Willyan, before Ricardo Vaz Té opened the scoring, in the 17th minute, after recovery and Tabata's pass.
The game stood out for balance until the break, but the Algarve squandered two good opportunities close to rest, with Vaná avoiding a first shot by Hackman (43) and Aylton Boa Morte failing incredibly with the open goal (44).
In the second half, with several moves as a whole, the locals took over and were close to a draw, namely by Diogo Gonçalves, at 59, with Gonda's defense to the bar.
Despite the famalicense pressure, Portimonense, who has not won in the League since August, in Tondela, returned to add another triumph.
In the next round, Portimonense receives Vit. Guimarães, in a game scheduled for Saturday, July 4th, at 7:15 pm.
