Portugal closes Minsk Grand Prix of track cycling with five medals


The Portuguese track cycling team ended their participation in the Minsk Grand Prix with five medals, after which Maria Martins finished third in the scratch race.

Maria Martins joins third place today to the first one achieved on Saturday in the omnium contest.

Today, at the Minsk velodrome, João Matias was fifth in scratch, in a race won by Russian Andrei Sazanov, and in which Miguel do Rego was 14th.

The Portuguese duo João Matias and Miguel do Rego competed in the madison race, finishing in seventh place.

The Portuguese team leaves Minsk with five medals won by Maria Martins, first in the omnium and third in scratch, and João Matias, who was bronze in the individual chase, points race and omnium.
