The Dublin Government today published a green list of 15 countries whose travelers are exempt from quarantine when they arrive in Ireland.
Portugal is not on the list, so Irish tourists on holidays in the Algarve will have to be quarantined when they return to their country of origin.
In addition to Portugal, Spain, France and neighboring Great Britain are also excluded from the Irish list, which no longer requires quarantine on return to Ireland, following the covid-19 pandemic, to a number of destinations.
The list consists of 15 Euopean countries, which have a number of coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants equal to or less than Ireland.
Among them are Malta, Finland, Norway, Italy, Greece, Gibraltar and others.
The Irish government released the decision late in the morning after a long meeting that started on Tuesday night.
