Portugal extended maturity of 619 million euros in Treasury Bonds to 2030 - The Economic Journal


Portugal today extended the maturity of 619 million euros in Treasury Bonds (OT) in circulation from 2021 to 2030, it was announced.

According to the website of the Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency (IGCP) at the "Bloomberg" agency, in the offer of exchange of Treasury Bonds, the IGCP, which manages the debt, bought 619 million euros of "OT 3.85 15 April 2021 "to 108.48%.

In this OT exchange operation, the IGCP sold 619 million euros from "OT 3,875 15 February 2030" to 125.40%.

In the financing program for 2019, the IGCP had already mentioned the intention to explore "opportunities to carry out exchanges and repurchases of securities".

On January 31, Portugal extended the maturity of 702 million euros in Treasury Bonds in circulation, from 2020 to 2028.

In this OT exchange offer, the IGCP bought 702 million euros from "OT 4.80% June 15, 2020" to 106.87% and sold the same value from "OT 2,125% October 17, 2028" to 105.67%.
