Portugal starts on Friday the I World Cup of slalom in canoeing, with K1 Antoine Launay, Ivan Silva, Luca Santos and C1 Carvalho to compete in London.

The Lee Valley White Water Center in London will be the first test of the Portuguese quartet for the World Cup, which will take place at the Olympic track-record for Tokyo2020 scheduled for the La Seu d'Urgell track in Spain, from the 24th to the 29th of September.

José Carvalho, ninth in Rio2016 and current 172nd in the international ranking, is the first to compete, integrating a four with 52 canoists.

Antoin Launay (35th in the standings), Ivan Silva (79th) and Luca Santos (298th) also compete on Friday with 57 opponents.

On Saturday, the semi-finals of C1 are disputed, in which the 30 strongest fight for a place in the final, reserved for the 10 best.

In K1, the semi-finals are reserved for the 40 best times and the medal race also for the top 10 records.
