According to data obtained by ACAP – Associação Automóvel de Portugal, in January 2021, 12,512 motor vehicles were registered by the legal representatives of the brand operating in Portugal, that is, 28.5 percent less than in the same month. last year.
By categories and types of vehicles, it was observed that in January 2021, 10,029 new passenger cars were registered in Portugal, that is, 30.5 percent less than in the same month of the previous year.
ACAP points out that this drop was not greater, because in January several hundred hybrid vehicles were registered, whose tax was paid in 2020. This, due to the worsening of the ISV, approved in the Budget for 2021.
With regard to the light goods market, in January 2021, it registered an unfavorable evolution, having decreased 19.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, standing at 2,098 registered units.
With regard to the heavy vehicle market, which encompasses the types of passengers and goods, in the first month of 2021 there was a drop of 20.8% in relation to the same month of the previous year, having sold 385 vehicles of this type. category.
