Feature film premieres in Portugal on September 19th
“A Herdade”, feature film by director Tiago Guedes and producer Paulo Branco, was the film chosen by members of the Portuguese Academy of Cinema (APC), to represent Portugal at the Oscars 2020, in the category of Best International Film.
Following its world premiere in the official competition of the 76th Venice Film Festival, where director Tiago Guedes was honored with the Bisato d'Oro Award for Best Achievement, the film is now at the Toronto TIFF Festival, marking the first time a Portuguese movie is selected for the Special Presentations section of the festival.
With a premiere in Portugal scheduled for September 19, "A Herdade" tells the saga of a Portuguese family, owner of one of the largest estates in Europe, on the south bank of the Tagus River, portraying the historical, political, social and financial crisis in our country between the 40's and today. The cast includes well-known actors from the Portuguese public, such as Albano Jerónimo, Sandra Faleiro, Miguel Borges and Victoria Guerra.

The 92nd Oscar Awards Ceremony will take place on February 9, 2020 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. During the event, the American Film Academy will award prizes in 24 categories.
