89% will celebrate this festive time at home, 65% of which will be in their own home and 32% in their relatives' homes.
9% of respondents intend to take a holiday away from home, with 6% saying that this festive season is a good time to travel and 3% to reunite with the family.
Among those who opt for vacations at this time, only 16% say they prefer the foreigner, with the vast majority (84%) choosing to stay in Portugal. In the national territory, the destination is mostly the North region of the country (37%), followed in the preference for the South of Portugal (30%). The islands are also a strong name, with 26% indicating this option. The Center Region is the least attractive, as it does not exceed 7%.
However, there is a drop to almost half of this intention when compared to that expressed in 2017 (16%). One of the main reasons given for this is the lack of financial availability, which increases from 14% from 2017 to 22% in 2018.
