President of the Association of British Footballers resigns after 38 years in office

British Football Association (PFA) president Gordon Taylor today resigned from his 38-year post after an investigation found that he had accumulated nearly 20 million pounds over the past decade.

Taylor, 74, had already been removed from office following the investigation, which is being conducted by an independent committee and found that in the last 12 years it has accumulated that value (equivalent to € 23 million, of today).

According to the English media, in recent months, 300 footballers have signed a letter calling for the resignation of the organization's president, who will now be barred from performing in the PFA for the next five years.
