Google has reported that network congestion that has affected services such as YouTube, Gmail or Snapchat is already resolved. The problem was due to a power failure, reaching mainly users on the east coast of the United States and in some areas of Europe.
In an official statement, the company added that it will conduct an internal investigation and make the necessary improvements in its services, in order to avoid or minimize future occurrences.
The source of the problem was a failure of Google Cloud services, ultimately affecting other platforms outside Google, such as Snapchat, Vimeo or Discord.
Before, Google had already assumed they were experiencing high levels of congestion and have identified the root of the problem, but without further details. YouTube also warned its users via Twitter that it was aware of the problem and would be working to resolve it. The video platform had already faced a similar situation in October last year, having been inaccessible for nearly two hours.
