Quelfes games come back in April


The 11th Quelfes Games, the largest national Olympic promotion event for primary school students, will take place from April 17 to 30, with golf and beach sports among the latest.

The organization is sending an email to all school groups in the Algarve, from which interested parties will be able to register, until January 31st, the registration of their team group or class in the 2020 edition of the event. .

This year, the Quelfes Games will be held in Ayamonte (Spain), Faro, Lagoa, Loulé, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel and, for the first time, Albufeira.

Committed to enhancing sport and promoting the values ​​of Olympism, in particular through the experience of special moments, such as the praise of the opponent, the collective podium or the applause corridor, the organization chose some of the most emblematic stages in the region to be the scene of events, namely Algarve Stadium, Belavista Stadium (Parchal – Lagoa) and Dr. Eduardo Mansinho Pavilion (Tavira), also marking the premiere of golf and beach sports (Tavira Island).

In the year of the Olympic Games (which will take place in Tokyo, Japan, in July and August), initiatives to promote Olympism, usually gathered under the 'call to games' banner, will be part of the 2020 coordinated Olympic Cultural Program. national level by the Portuguese Olympic Academy.
