Proof decides national titles of Motorcycle Race, Motorcycle Hobby and Trophy Veterans, among other classes in motorcycles and SSV
Organized by the Motorcycle Section of the Reguenguense Art Society and the Municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz, the Rally Raid Sharish Gin / Tires and Company is the last race of the national navigation championship of the Federation of Motorcycling of Portugal that will be held on December 8 and 9 in Reguengos de Monsaraz.
There are 66 competitors on motorcycles and 12 SSVs from Portugal, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands and England, with five riders participating in the next Dakar 2019 in Peru, namely António Maio, Paulo Gonçalves, Fausto Mota, Sebastian Buhler and Paul Spierings.
Bianchi Prata, Honda HRC's sporting director on the Dakar, will also take part in this race, as will Mikael Berglund and George Dennison, the latter two of whom will then head to the African Eco Race 2019.
The Rally Raid Sharish Gin / Tires and Company is an off road test on varied terrain with a secret track, followed by roadbook and GPS, to test the navigation capabilities and the resistance of riders and vehicles. Reguenguenses David Rodrigues and Nuno Matias will be acclaimed in this race as national champions in SSV, and national titles such as those of Motos Race, Hobby Motorcycles and Trophy Veterans, among other classes in motorcycles and SSV are still to be decided.
The checks will take place on December 7, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Fair and Exhibition Center of Reguengos de Monsaraz, while the competition starts the following day at 8:00 am, departing from Carrapatelo and the village of Caridade. The first stage has a route of 305 kilometers with sections in the counties of Reguengos and Monsaraz, Redondo, Alandroal and Évora, with the arrival of the first pilot scheduled for 2pm.
On December 9, the second stage is completed, with 130 kilometers, with the departure of the competitors to happen at 8am next to the village of Caridade and arrival of the first pilot scheduled for 11am in Campinho.
The awards ceremony will take place from 2.30pm at the Reguengos de Monsaraz Fair and Exhibition Center, from where the vehicles leave for the departure zones of the two stages.
