Portugal takes the lead at European level for services related to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up of cardiovascular diseases, said Francisco George, president of the Red Cross to TSF, on the eve of the opening of the Center from heart. The investment was 10 million euros in state-of-the-art technology and innovative methods to treat patients.
Available to all users of health subsystems, such as the ADSE, private insurance, Red Cross card or patients who can pay for the treatments, the Heart Center will always be open, running 24/7 all year round and not will have waiting lists. In the future, a protocol with the National Health Service can be carried out to reach more people.
According to Francisco George, the equipment will explore all the methodologies used in the treatment of heart disease, but in a non-invasive way, ie treatments without the need to open the rib cage. The team includes cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and other specialists capable of solving problems immediately, according to the publication.
In addition to treatments at the hospital, patients will continue to be monitored at home by telematically measuring data generated by patients, such as blood pressure, weight or arrhythmias.
The Heart Center opens doors this Friday, May 31.
