The Red Star said it will file a defamation complaint against the French newspaper L'Équipe due to the information released by the newspaper this Friday.
The sporty Gaul revealed that UEFA has alerted French authorities to a possible combination of results in the Champions League match between PSG-Red Star. Several leaders of the Serbian emblem would have wagered large millions of euros in the defeat of the own equipment by five goals of difference – result that was confirmed
"The Red Star, with great anger and abomination, rejects the story that the newspaper L'Éequipe published today on the alleged suspected result of the game against PSG, as well as the alleged involvement of all members of our club in possible questionable actions.
This article seriously undermines our club's reputation and that is why we urge UEFA, with researchers from Serbia and France, to investigate the whole issue to get the truth.
Today's technologies and mechanisms are so improved that, in principle, it is impossible to leave this question unresolved. The Red Star hopes to be able to reach the truth in a short space of time in order to remove any suspicion about our involvement in such acts, "the statement said.
