Jóni Brandão (Efapel) today maintained the leadership of the Tour de Portugal by bicycle, equal to João Rodrigues (W52-FC Porto).), following the triumph of António Carvalho (W52-FC Porto) in the ninth and second to last stage, on top of Senhora da Graça.
At the end of the 133.5 kilometers, between Fafe and Senhora da Graça (Mondim de Basto), António Carvalho won in 3: 49.12 hours, one second less than João Rodrigues and two less than Joni Brandão.
Overall, Jóni Brandão now has the same time as João Rodrigues and 40 seconds more than third-placed Spaniard Gustavo Veloso.
The 81st edition of the Tour de Portugal ends on Sunday, with an individual time trial of 19.5 kilometers between Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto.
