Golfer Ricardo Melo Gouveia is the best Algarvian in the 87th National Absolute Audi Championship, at the Oporto Golf Club, in Espinho, taking 4th place after the second round, played yesterday.
Pedro Figueiredo, Tiago Cruz and Pedro Lencart share the leadership in the men's tournament, with eight strokes below the "par", while the recently crowned national professional champion, Leonor Bessa, totals 144 strokes (-2) and occupies the 1st. place in females.
Very close to the trio of leaders, in men, is Ricardo Melo Gouveia (-7), a member of the Challenge Tour, thanks to a second round of five under the "par" (with "birdies" in the last three holes).
The 72-hole tournament, which continues today, includes 18,200 euros for the men's tournament and 1,800 for the women, with the champion receiving 900 euros and the champion 3,800.
