The Portuguese Rally Championship traveled to Pérola do Atlântico – Madeira Island – where Team Vito Skoda, with Ricardo Teodósio and José Teixeira, returned to fight for the podium on the island asphalt, finishing in 4th place, a result that does not satisfy the team , however, it does not lower its arms in the fight for the revalidation of the title.
Ricardo Teodósio and navigator José Teixeira knew that the third round of the season, the Madeira Wine Rally, would be a test of fire in their time, since direct competition is usually quite strong in the island race. The Team Vito Skoda pair entered the rally determined, but soon realized that the set-up chosen for their Skoda Fabia R5 Evo was not the most effective, losing important time in the fight for the top positions of the CPR.
“The Madeira Wine Rally is one of those events where we have to have full confidence in the car to attack from the first meter. In the first section of sections I felt good about the car, but the times just didn't 'go out'. When we got back to assistance we decided to change the setting and also the driving style, but I confess that I always prefer a more aggressive style, something that in this rally was not possible. Fourth place is not the result we wanted, but it is also not negative, as we have accumulated important points and remain in the top 3 of the championship. We will now prepare the Rally Alto Tâmega in the best way and try to return to winning ways within three weeks ”, stated the national champion in title.
The Portuguese Rally Championship, continues from 28 to 30 this month, with the fourth race of the season that will mark the return of the Alto Tâmega region to the main echelon of national rallies.
