The prestigious singer Rita Maria and the renowned pianist Filipe Raposo are the guests of the “Conversas à Quinta” rubric, a regular initiative of the Cine-Teatro Louletano, on October 3rd, Thursday, at 21h00, to be held at the Auditorium of the Solar da Música Nova, in Loulé, with free admission, in a concert-concert format around the celebrations of World Music Day.
The thinking aspect associated with the performing arts, in a constant stimulus of the critical spirit, the debate and the sharing of ideas and experiences, is fundamental in Cine-Teatro's programming strategy. That is why this piece of equipment addressed the invitation to Rita Maria (voice) and Filipe Raposo (piano) to make known their routes, complicities and visions, in a forum where conversation and live music set the tone for a very good night. especially in the company of two great figures from the Portuguese music scene.
In a logic of articulation between the programming of the Cine-Theater and the Conservatory of Music of Loulé, the invited duo will also hold a performative conversation with students (from the 5th grade of the articulated regime) of this educational institution during the afternoon of the 3rd, informally exploring the relationships between the universes of classical music and jazz.
Filipe Raposo and Rita Maria, “artistic lovers who have recognized themselves at a distance for their affinities”, recorded a record together, released in August 2018, entitled “Live in Oslo” and already acclaimed by the public and critics. This album feels a confluence of genres ranging from popular Portuguese songbook to American and jazz, through themes by José Afonso or Zeca Medeiros, to songs by Gabriel Fauré or Henry Purcell.
Distinguished with the “Artist of the Year” Award for the Jazz Party, Rita Maria has been linked to jazz since she was a teenager. She is part of the projects “Stockholm Lisboa Project” and “Saga Cega”, and has collaborated with artists such as Afonso Pais, Mário Laginha and Sara Serpa.
Filipe Raposo, pianist, composer and orchestrator, has a background in piano and composition, has written for theater and film, recurrently worked with names such as Sérgio Godinho, Amélia Muge and José Mário Branco, and has edited three albums under his own name.
The event is expected to last 90 minutes and is advised for those over 12 years old, being free admission, limited to the capacity of the room.
