Roland Garros: Petra Kvitova gives up before debut due to injury


Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova gave up today to participate in the tournament of Roland Garros, second of the Grand Slam of 2019, announced the sixth classified of the world-wide ranking, to few hours of facing Romanian Sorana Cirstea.

Speaking on the official social networking account Twitter, Kvitova explained that he has left forearm pain and that the tests confirmed the existence of "a grade two distension, which can get worse if you play today."

Kvitova, who was scheduled to play in the first round with the world number 84 and said he expected to return to Paris in the 2020 edition, was a semi-finalist at Roland Garros in 2012 and a winner at Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014.
