During this first week of September, the Safe Internet Center (CIS) Summer Campaign reaches the beaches of Cascais to promote conscious use of the Internet. The initiative takes place in partnership with the Talent Promotion Department of the Cascais City Council and has as its main focus the theme of digital parenting.
With the aim of increasing the digital literacy of the population and helping them to use the Internet safely, the campaign seeks to encourage parents to better understand their children's digital world and to share their experiences through different tips and recommendations. practices.
In this way, it aims to "promote the potential of the digital world, make known the latest news and monitor the participation and growth of children and youth in digital", explains the CIS in the statement sent to newsrooms.
The campaign also aims to make known the Safe Internet Line, a free service based on telephone and online service on issues related to the use of online platforms and technologies and which since the beginning of the year has been managed by the Support Association Victim (APAV). Making known the different resources that the Center provides is another of the objectives.
CIS, coordinated by the Foundation for Science and Technology, is made up of a consortium, which includes members with the Directorate-General for Education of the Ministry of Education, the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, the Altice Foundation and APAV. The House of Bits itself is also part of the consortium.
