After being forced to postpone the launch of its first folding smartphone, Samsung reopened registration for the Galaxy Fold purchase. Five months have passed since the technology company was forced to collect the units that had already been tested. It is recalled that, at the time, the equipment proved to be more fragile than planned, with some displays breaking soon after some use.
The opening of the records indicates that the smartphone should reach stores very soon. The brand still does not advance a date, but given the commercial apparatus, it is possible that the Fold will be launched in September.
Note that registration for the purchase of equipment is not the same as pre-ordering. In this case, Samsung is just creating a stakeholder listing, as registration does not even require any payment to the consumer. It is also important to note that there is no news about the launch of the pre-order phase, although this may not happen.
In order to leverage the novelty effect, the South Korean giant will have to be able to resolve the reticence caused in the market when collecting defective units. The folding smartphone was a goal of many techs, but Fold's problems seem to have sounded some alarms. At this point, it is very likely that interested consumers will decide to wait a while to see if this new version of the device is, in fact, what Samsung has promised in its presentation.
