Let us remember that the “Santa Cecilia di Firenze Choir” was born in 1999 from an idea by Alessandro Benassai, who "together with some of his collaborators, studies and composes original, traditional and modern music at the same time. Sacred music because it is inspired by themes such as the Te Deum, the Psalms of David, the Genesis of Moses, the Our Father, the Hail Mary, etc. "
It should be noted that the composition uses exclusively the diatonic scale and its eight modes, and to make this new type of music known, a choir and an Academy called “Santa Cecília” were formed – in honor of the patron saint of music. and “di Firenze” because it's your hometown. They collaborated with professional orchestras, musicians and lyric singers.
In these 20 years, the Santa Cecilia di Firenze Choir has performed several concerts, namely in Italy (Rome, Florence, Parma, Siena, Arezzo, Pistoia, Grosseto, etc.) as well as in Germany, Austria, France and Portugal.
