The Portuguese Sérgio Vieira is the new coach Farense, announced today the Algarve team, who finished in 10th place the Portuguese Liga II football this season.
"SC Farense announces that he has reached an agreement with coach Sergio Vieira for the 2019/2020 sports season. We welcome him and wish all personal and sporting success to Sergio Vieira and his entire technical team," he says. the Faro club on its official Facebook page.
According to the SAD Algarve, Sérgio Vieira's "good sporting results", including "the important contribution in the ascent to the I Liga" of Famalicão, where he performed functions this time, as well as his "character and experience", were the reasons which led the administration led by João Rodrigues to decide "that would be the right person to achieve the objectives determined by Farense," which are not specified.
Sérgio Vieira, 36, started his coaching career in the Portuguese lower divisions, prior to an experience in Brazil, where he spent, among others, Atlético Paranaense, Ferroviária and América Mineiro.
Returning to Portugal, he guided Moreirense in the I Liga during the 2017/2018 season, and started the current season in Famalicão, which left 2nd place in the Second League to the 26th round.
