In July, the turnover rate slowed to 1.4% when compared to the previous month. The main culprits are trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, which went from a year-on-year growth of 4.2% in June to a reduction of 0.7% in July.
Data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), released on Wednesday, say that against the trend was an evolution in the transport and Amazon sector with a year-on-year increase of 6.3% in July, plus 1.2 pp than in the previous month.
The employment rate in services was the fastest growing section, increasing by 1.9% in July. In the previous month, INE registered 1.5%. The volume of work, measured by the number of hours worked, increased, year-on-year, by 3.6% in July, while in the previous month it had decreased by 2.0%.
