Eva Senses Hotel, in Faro, held, together with the local Firefighters, on November 29th, a fire drill involving professionals and guests.
To test and evaluate the Internal Emergency Plan (PEI), the exercise involved a fire drill on floor 4 of the unit, as well as staff from the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC), INEM and PSP.
Evaluate fire intervention measures, train intervention and evacuation teams, assess internal and external safety and security articulation, test accessibility and mobility of fire brigade vehicles, regulate traffic in access to the unit, the circulation of guests and employees in the area of fire and deepening the prevention and safety culture of professionals and guests were the main objectives of the action.
The simulacrum, which lasted about 50 minutes, began at 10:00 am and was set against the detection of a fire in one of the rooms by the housekeeper and housekeeping team, the presence of a fainted victim inside – its evaluation and the application of SPV maneuvers are necessary – and the evacuation of the space, with special attention to people with reduced mobility.
At the end of the year, organized by the AP Hotels & Resorts Group Risk and Safety Management service, a meeting was held with all stakeholders, chaired by Liliana Conde, director of Eva Senses Hotel, and by external entities involved in the simulacrum, to assess the action and procedures adopted to resolve the occurrence.
“These entities have confirmed that the unit is adequately responsive to such an emergency by evacuating people from all floors of the building, driving to the rendezvous point, and communicating with security personnel outside. ”, Says the hotel unit, in a statement.
On the occasion, the 137th anniversary of the Faro Bombeiros Sapatores, one of the oldest in the Algarve, was celebrated, with a birthday cake and a drink.
