The renowned director Ricardo Neves-Neves, born in Quarteira, and the prestigious pianist and composer Filipe Raposo will perform at Cine-Teatro Louletano (one of the co-producers of this creation) on March 29 and 30, at 9:30 p.m., "Banda Sonora" one of the most acclaimed plays presented in Portugal in 2018, now in absolute debut in the south of the country.
In an amazing scenic device, with a forest on stage and an orchestra in the background, on the mountain, playing live, the two creators present an unusual and surprising spectacle, in which the music followed the writing and vice versa, putting on stage a universe of infantile perversity interpreted by three pairs of actresses-singers, accompanied by the Metropolitan Academic Orchestra directed by Maestro Cesário Costa. A text loaded with metaphors, passed in a forest of more or less traditional tales, with songs and songs to match.
In a forest of terror live three orphans, 8, 12 and 16 years old: the first macrocéfalas and full of scientific curiosity, the second obsessed by the social rules and daughters of a king of Mesopotamia, the third so voluminous that sentenced the death of the mother with his birth. There are three girls with six voices. The three pairs of actresses, with physical and timbral similarities, populate the stage in a universe connected to the horror movies and the more traditional black children's tales. Between nonsense, delirium and extravagant innocence, strongly linked to a musical, rhythmic and polyphonic essence, a path is traversed through the forest from the dissection of frogs to the secret introduction to smoking.
The renowned critic Augusto M. Seabra wrote: "a brilliant spectacle, absolute confirmation, if there still was any, of the creative singularity of Ricardo Neves-Neves, here in an exemplary partnership with a composer, Filipe Raposo. Undoubtedly a landmark of musical theater in the Portuguese stages. " It emphasizes the creative ferocity of Ricardo Neves-Neves, taken to an unprecedented point: the girl is an orphan of a mother, who died in childbirth, and the story continues until her father's death. This is accompanied by the portentous visual delirium (the set is signed by Henrique Ralfeta, the costumes are the responsibility of Rafaela Mapri and the characterization was Cidália Espadinha) of a figurative universe that reminds Tim Burton, as well as a remarkable level of formal qualification regarding the interpretation (the vocal direction is of João Henriques).
"Banda Sonora" is a co-production: Teatro do Eléctrico, Cine-Teatro Louletano and São Luiz Municipal Theater.
The tickets have an associated cost of 9 euros per person, going from 7 euros for people over 65 and under 30 years (the Amigo Card is applicable), and the show lasts 60 minutes, aimed at people over 14 years.
