The next edition of the Spoken Word Festival of the Algarve | Calceteiros de Letras, an organization of the Gimnásio Clube de Faro, will take place next weekend, on the 14th and 15th of November.
On Saturday, 14, at 9:30 pm, the festival starts with the project «He wrote for 25 pennies», from the Algarve João Caiano and Martim Santos / Lágrima, inspired by one of the many stories of the grandfather of one of the interpreters – «They were letters / love sonnets that I wrote for those without skills. It was already romantic, listening to those stories. »
This is followed by the presentation of «On the Road Jack Kerouac», by Tó Trips (Dead Combo) and Tiago Gomes (Revista Bíblia), where the two performers and the video send the viewer to Route 66, in America.
On the stage of Gimnásio Clube de Faro, on Sunday, the 15th, at 4:00 pm there will be the presentation of «Tell me, António», a show in the form of a tribute to the work of António Aleixo, in which three creators perform in the areas of dance, music and spoken words come together to reflect on the Algarve poet.
Then there will be the space «Momento», dedicated to the poet from Olhão, Pedro Jubilot, his work and literary journey.
To close the initiative, it will be presented with the «Calceteiros de Letras» award (the winner will be announced on the same day), which, for the third year, will distinguish an entity that over the years has contributed to the dissemination of words and poetry in a creative way is original.
