The inaugural round of the 2nd football league was postponed to 13 September, while the draw for the 1st and 2nd leagues of the 2020/2021 season went from 9 to 28 August, the Portuguese Professional Football League announced yesterday. (LPFP).
“Following the communication sent by the Portuguese Football Federation last Friday, reporting the suspension of the identification of the two clubs in the Portuguese Championship (Vizela and Arouca) for participation in professional competitions, and also due to the fact that the process licensing of Cova da Piedade and Casa Pia is in progress, Liga Portugal is realizing that the start of competition, initially scheduled for August 22, will take place on September 13 ”, explains the LPFP.
In a short statement posted on the website of the organization chaired by Pedro Proença, it is said that the start of the 2nd League, initially scheduled for August 22, will take place on September 13, “the calendar is still awaiting the approval of the FPF”.
