Startup Portimão launches the 2nd Online Acceleration Bootcamp in the Algarve totally virtual, which will take place on April 21st and 22nd and May 19th and 20th, following the practices of incubators and entrepreneurship centers around the world, which seek to counteract the inertia and reinvent themselves, stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit. This is the first initiative of a set of actions scheduled for the first half of April, in online format, which aim to awaken the Algarve entrepreneurial ecosystem and minimize the harmful effects of Covid-19 in the medium term, offering alternative solutions for the development and acceleration of Business.
Similar to what happened in 2020, Smart Cities and the SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals continue to be the two themes transversal to all the moments of this bootcamp, whose sessions will be in English and which constitutes an intensive training program aimed at all entrepreneurs who want to have a unique experience, developing various types of skills. The bootcamp will have inspiring talks in sessions open to the public, as well as several sessions aimed at selected entrepreneurs with moments of networking and speed mentoring, pitch stations and thematic talks. The range of topics is quite varied and includes areas such as finance, marketing, the approach to investors, sources of investment, aspects of improvement in decision making, the pitch training and the challenges posed by Covid-19.
For the development of the business plan, the Startup Academy Plan tool, designed by the Creative Territories, will be used, worth mentioning the fact that this Bootcamp is open to interested entrepreneurs, who will be accompanied by renowned mentors, in the continuation of the affirmation path of the Portimonense incubator together of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
To culminate the 2nd Online Acceleration Bootcamp in the Algarve, a conference on the theme of Smart Cities and SDGs is scheduled for May 20, transmitted in live streaming, at the end of which the selected projects will present the pitches to a jury that will give your feedback. To promote the initiative among the educational community, a virtual roadshow will be taking place from 2 pm on Tuesday, April 6, especially aimed at secondary schools and universities in Portimão, through the Zoom platform, and the same will also be broadcast on StarUp Portimão facebook.
Applications are free and must be made until 12 noon on April 12 through the link. Registrations for talks open to the public are also already underway.
In the business plan of StarUp Portimão; on April 7, at 2:30 pm, a clarification session on the Acredita Portugal Program will take place. This clarification session will address the main guidelines of the contest, which also constitutes a free and online educational program, aimed at those who have a business idea or an entrepreneurial project under development. The action will be promoted by Filipe Cordeiro, head startups of Associação Acredita Portugal, and interested parties should use the registration link.
Two days later, on April 9, the networking breakfast “Associativism and social intervention” starts at 9:30 am, with the participation of Luís Brito, president of the Teimon ´Impulsos association. The proposal on the table will be a conversation about the importance of the associative movement in the territories and the intervention it can have within the local society. At

Finally, the presentation of the book “Finances with Confidence” was scheduled for 10 am on April 14, which deals with the theoretical concepts and techniques of financial management in a very intuitive way. The work, which contains several activities that allow exemplifying the applicability of concepts, is not only aimed at those curious about the theme, but also entrepreneurs, businessmen and leaders of organizations. Those interested in learning more about the use of business project design and evaluation tools will have the opportunity to hear the ideas of Bruno Santos Amaro, Luís Matos Martins and Vanessa Batista, with moderation by Rui Rosa.
