State will become owner of land without known owner - The Economic Newspaper

The Portuguese state will become the owner of the buildings identified as not having a known owner, and the management of these properties will pass through the Forest Management Company, writes the "Business Journal" this Friday.

"Under the terms of the Civil Code, the land without a known owner considers it to be state-owned," said the Deputy Minister of Economy, Pedro Siza Vieira, on the fringes of a Council of Ministers dedicated to fires and forests, Thursday, 25.

Although the Civil Code provided for this scenario, this was not in force since "there was no [em Portugal] a regulated process that would make it possible to determine with certainty what these buildings are and how they can be considered to be public property. "

The Government approved the decree-law that aims to regulate the entire process of recognition.
