The municipality of São Brás de Alportel decided to extend the Program of Activities of Animation and Support to the Family (AAAF) in the academic year 2020/21, a measure to support families aimed at children who attend schools in the municipality.
“This initiative allows students to have access to complementary, playful and pedagogical activities, after the curricular hours, allowing parents to reconcile with their working hours”, underlines, in a statement, the executive led by Vítor Guerreiro, who says “aware of the difficulties faced by families, in the demanding challenge of reconciling family and professional life ”.
In a chamber meeting, on August 24, the values of the family contribution were fixed to ensure participation in the activities.
Families that do not benefit from economic aid will have a monthly expense of 24 euros, while families in step B have a benefit of 12 euros, and families in step A have free access to them.
Taking into account the starting date of the school year and the school break periods, it was determined that in the months of September, December, February, March and April, the values will be lower.
The payment of benefits is made by the parents, after notification, through the SIGA platform, in use in the municipality since the beginning of this year, through an ATM or in the municipality's treasury, during its opening hours.
This is yet another measure implemented by the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, within the scope of the «General Plan of Support to Families».
In the same context, the reimbursement of school passes for the transport of students who attend schools in neighboring municipalities will be continued when the desired area of study does not exist in the municipality, and the award of scholarships to students in the municipality who attend higher education. .
In the new academic year, the children's «Vale Saúde – Oftalmologia» will continue to be awarded, which designates the visual acuity screening project for preschool children.
Aware of the “economic crisis caused by the new coronavirus and the challenges it poses to families and companies that have seen their income limited,” the São Brás de Alportel executive also approved the reinforcement of the “Vale + Educação” measure, for more students covered and higher support value, now supporting students who attend schools in the municipality, from the 1st cycle to secondary education.
Thus, each student is receiving a voucher of 25 euros for the purchase of school supplies in the local commerce in São Paulo, a measure that reaches the students of secondary education for the first time.
During the period of interruption of teaching activities in schools, maintenance work and several improvements were carried out in the areas of energy efficiency and playful-pedagogical circuits, in addition to improvements in shading structures and protections at school entrances.
