The Municipal Library Álvaro de Campos, in Tavira, received on Wednesday the awards ceremony of the Book Trailers competition, which had the participation of 52 students.
In this second edition, the following groups were winners: 1st Cycle – "The Giraffe that ate Stars", by José Eduardo Agualusa, by the students Rafaela Lourenço, Salomé Teixeira and Sara Vaquinhas; 2nd Cycle – "The Red Tree" by Shaun Tan, by Beatriz Rosário and Frederica Esteves; 3rd Cycle – "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exuperuper, by Beatriz Saraiva, Bobi Asanov Shekirov, Maria Carolina Oliveira and Xavier Horta Neto; Secondary Education – «Jerusalem», by Gonçalo M. Tavares, by Pedro Martins, Ana sofia, Joana Ferreira and Diogo Valadares.
Honorable mentions were also given to students in the 2nd cycle of elementary and secondary education, as well as to the competitor in the category of general public. Fifty-two candidates participated in a total of 19 booktrailers.
The criteria for serialization were based on creativity and innovation, artistic quality (soundtrack and images) and technique (recording, editing and post production), the argument and the realization, as well as the linguistic correction.
A "book trailer" is a short video that aims to present, in a brief and visual way, the atmosphere of a book, without showing the complete plot or the outcome, in order to suggest and create interest in the reader.
