Surface Pro 6: a new step towards the future - Multimedia

While remaining aesthetically loyal to its predecessors, the new Surface Pro 6 will hitch-hike to Intel and change its hardware configuration around the eighth generation of processors. The new model has different configurations, based on the i5 and i7 chips, and an Intel UHD Graphics 620 graphics card.

As for memory, the tablet has 8GB and 16GB versions of RAM and SSD starting at 128GB up to 1TB. Microsoft points out that the new chips contribute to better device autonomy with about 3.5 hours more. This is a performance increase compared to the previous Surface Pro, for a total of 13.5 operating hours.

Its 12.3-inch touchscreen, based on PixelSense technology, has a resolution of 2,736×1,824 and 267 PPI (pixels per inch). The device also features an 8 MP camera with autofocus, supporting facial recognition through Windows Hello.

In addition to the classic gray model, the new generation of Surface Pro introduces a variant in black. You can then choose between four colors of the cover / keyboard that you can purchase separately. Strangely, Microsoft did not upgrade its USB port to the Type-C, keeping the conventional USB-A, forcing interested users to buy their adapter. To power the device was maintained its magnetic connector system.

With a launch scheduled for October 16, the new Surface Pro 6 starts with a base price of $ 899 for the lower configuration of the i5 chip. Your cover / keyboard costs around $ 100.

Microsoft has also released the new Windows 10 update, which includes some new features such as the ability to burn more elements in memory using "copy and paste" instead of just the last item. This feature also lets you create a clipboard with action history, available across the network of Windows devices. Another feature is the introduction of "dark" mode in Windows applications, in order to facilitate navigation by spot lighting.

Also added was the application Your Phone, which allows you to instantly access your Android smartphone to send texts or photos directly from the computer. Or take photos on your phone and view photos on the PC screen.

Microsoft has released all the information on Windows 10 news on its official blog.
