#EstudoEmCasa arrives on YouTube through 5 new channels, with classes for children and young people from pre-school to secondary education.
At a time when classroom teaching activities are suspended, the supply of pedagogical content multiplies, beyond the answer via television designed for elementary school students, which will be formally presented tomorrow, Wednesday.
As a result of the partnership between the Ministry of Education, YouTube and Thumb Media, a platform is created based on YouTube, which allows teachers to make their classes available, allowing them to be accessible to the wider educational community.
In fact, sharing practices is the order of the day for teachers, currently teaching at a distance. Making digital educational resources available to students is already a good practice, which now has all the conditions to spread. This challenge to teachers and educators meets the search for solutions that many had already started since the introduction of information and communication technologies in schools.
YouTube – one of the most widespread digital platforms worldwide – is thus open to schools in Portugal, with content validated by the Directorate-General for Education (DGE).
Teachers, who want to make their classes available on these 5 new channels, become part of the “YouTube Community – #EstudoEmCasa”.
On April 16 and 17, these professors will be able to participate in an online session, whose objective is to train them with the methodologies that best suit the platform. For this, they will have the support of technicians from partner entities.
In this way, each teacher who participates in the referred session, and others who come together later, will produce / make available classes and other activities, placing them in their own channels (public or private), leaving DGE, after a simple validation process, organize these materials by years of schooling and by subjects so that everyone – teachers, children and students, families and guardians – can view them on the DGE channel #EstudoEmCasa.
On YouTube, channels can be found by searching for “DGE #EstudoEmCasa”, or on the following links:
