The Roman experiences return to the Ruins of Milreu, in Estoi, in the municipality of Faro, with the project «From Knowing to Create – Technological Experiences in Villa de Milreu», next weekend, on 14 and 15 December.
It is a project of the Living Science Center of the Algarve, which aims to give you the opportunity to experience the processes of production, construction and creation of the Roman period through various workshops and activities:
«Smokers and fragrances» is a pottery workshop for the construction of smokers and shows of herbs used to perfume environments. Each participant will take with him the piece he created in this workshop.
"Techniques of graphical representation of the Roman period", approaching techniques that granted to the Romans important advantages, also from the military point of view, and "The Roman Geology of Milreu", that makes the analysis of the rocks used in the Roman buildings of the region and their identification through chemical physical tests, are other proposals.
«The Roman landscape of Milreu» involves the presentation of some practices of landscape planning and cultivation of aromatic plants characteristic of the Roman period.
Lastly, "Tabernae" will be a showcase of typical and / or contemporary regional products produced from local natural resources on 15 December.
According to the organization, on Friday, 14, the action will be held with the Emiliano da Costa School in Estoi between 9:00 and 12:00 noon. On Saturday, 15, the activity is open to the participation of the population and families, between 15:00 and 17:00
«Do Saber ao Crear» is an initiative integrated in DiVaM 2018 – Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments, a cultural program organized by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
