The Municipal Library António Ramos Rosa, in Faro, and the Movement of the Modern School (MEM) will promote a discussion on education on Friday, September 14 at 5:30 p.m.
The action, to be held in the library auditorium, will feature Ariana Cosme and Rui Trindade, moderated by Maria Eugenia Jesus.
The Modern School Movement (MEM) is an association of educational professionals that assumes itself as a social movement for human development and pedagogical change. Its main objective is the construction of contemporary responses to a school education entirely oriented by democratic values of direct participation, through structures of educational cooperation.
In this meeting, especially aimed at educators, teachers and university students in the field of education, but also all those who are interested in the subject, will be under debate: the democratic management of schools and their reduction of bureaucracy, new curricular proposals and educational practices in spaces that promote cooperation among all students, the promotion of their autonomy and participation in everyday decisions at the most diverse levels.
Ariana Cosme and Rui Trindade are university professors, linked to the area of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, and have dedicated their teaching and research in the areas of development and education of children and in the pedagogical innovation.
The moderation of this meeting will be in charge of Maria Eugenia de Jesus, member of the Pedagogical Commission of the Algarve Regional Center of the Modern School Movement – MEM.
