The testimony of two victims of domestic violence touched the audience attending the gathering promoted on Saturday by Juntos Somos Arte (JSA), at the Manuel Alegre Municipal Library
On that occasion, Patrícia Gomes, author of chronicles at the Capazes Association (a feminist association whose aim is to promote information and awareness among civil society on gender equality, women's rights advocacy and empowerment) addressed the issue of harassment sexual.
In addition to presenting harassment as something that disrespects and impedes women's freedom by causing discomfort and even guilt and shame, the chronicler also emphasized the need to abandon old beliefs and social prejudices that limit the image of women and do not admit its merit and its character.
This was followed by the presentation of the book "No one deserves" by Inês Muhammad, presented by the writer and head of JSA's artistic council, Li Marta. The story portrays a relationship in which domestic violence is well present and inspired by events the author herself can witness. Several aspects of the story were presented and commented on by both the author and those present.
