The Algarve duo Ricardo Teodósio / José Teixeira at the controls of the Skoda Fábia R5 Evo, when finishing the Rally Terra d'Aboboreira in 2nd place, which took place this weekend in the municipalities of Amarante, Baião and Marco de Canaveses, mortgaged the possibility to renew the title of National Rally Champion, as he himself acknowledges in statements to Autosport at the end of the race, statements that you can hear here.
The pair Armindo Araújo / Luís Ramalho (Škoda Fabia R5 Evo) ended up winning the rally taking into account that the dominant Adrien Fourmaux (Ford Fiesta R5 MKII) was betrayed by a penalty, which relegated him to the 5th final position.
Surprising was the performance of the duo Miguel Correia / António Costa (Škoda Fabia R5), who in his third year in rallying, according to the controls of an R5 vehicle, reached a podium in a race of the Portugal Rally Championship.
The Bruno Magalhães / Carlos Magalhães team (Hyundai I20 R5) did not get better than the 4th final place and with that they lost the championship lead to Armindo Araújo, whose atypical 2020 title will be decided on the Algarve roads, taking into account that the margin is perfectly recoverable by the pilot from Lisbon.
Bearing in mind that only Armindo Araújo and Bruno Magalhães can reach the title, taking into account the difference between them, the final accounts can be decided in the small details, that is, with the victories in special classification events and / or in Power Stage.
The next event is the Rally Casinos do Algarve, which takes place on the 14th and 15th of November, departing from Lagoa and arriving at Praia da Rocha in Portimão.
